Treasure Buddies

The Buddies Are Back! January 31st!

http://youtu.be/WkY8VWIHcZs

Disney’s talking canine superstars are back in “Treasure Buddies,” their 6th all-new adventure. This latest story is told from the perspective of the Buddies’ newest friend, a mischievous Egyptian monkey named Babi. As Babi tells us, more than 40 years ago, a young archeologist named Thomas Howard, travelled to Egypt with his dog Digger to search for the lost necklace of Cleocatra. They managed to discover half of an artifact, the Bronze of Bastet, but their find triggered a booby-trapped cave-in, which they barely escaped ...

This Week's Calendar:

January 28th through February 3rd

Saturday, January 28 - Owl Story and Pellet Dissection

Winter is a great time to learn about owls. It is the time of year when they start courting and setting up their breeding territories. But why do they need these territories? The story Screech Owl at Midnight Hollow will help to answer that question, while we follow a family of Eastern Screech Owls as they raise their young. We’ll learn about what they eat and the dangers they might face. Each child will be given a heat sterilized owl pellet to dissect, to find the contents of the owl’s previous meal. Owl pellets are masses of undigested parts of food that owl species occasionally regurgitate.

Saturday, January 28 - Lego Club at CMEE

While the rest of the family is playing in the Museum, older siblings can construct works of art out of LEGOs that will be on display at CMEE until the next club meeting. Studies of children’s museum visitorship across the country show that by the time kids are 6 or 7, they begin to lose interest in visiting children’s museums. To help keep kids ages 7 to 9 engaged in CMEE (at least long enough for their younger siblings to enjoy the Museum) CMEE is launching “Lego Club”!
