Well into the “swing” of its 2022 season, Hamptons Trapeze Co (HTC) is proud to offer a special intensive flying trapeze workshop August 15 – 20, 2022 for all ages and skill levels. The workshop features classes from 7p to 8.30p on the 15th, 16th, 18th & 19th (with a break on the 17th to recharge). The workshop will culminate in an optional “sequined spectacular” show on the 20th where workshop participants can don HTC’s professional circus costumes to perform their newly learned “tricks” for friends and family. The workshop aims to help students improve their skills and confidence on the “rig”. Students will learn to perform more complex tricks, some even caught by a catcher. The workshop’s coaches will help students work toward a performance where they can wow the audience with their amazing feats. The workshop is limited to 10 students, and existing class “credits” can be used toward the $499 cost. Beginners to advanced students aged 4+ are welcome in the workshop, though some previous flying experience is preferred. Hamptons Trapeze Co. is the only flying trapeze outfit on the East End. Children as young as four are welcome to learn to “fly”, and adults are encouraged to give it a go as well. The experience incorporates several safety mechanisms and expert coaching which make the daring-looking feats extremely safe. “Frequent flyers” can progress to more challenging tricks, and even learn to be caught by a catcher, just like in the circus. Hamptons Trapeze Co is owned by veteran flying trapeze artist and rigging expert Gregory Tiwald. He and his 2022 instructors hail from three continents—the US, Europe and Australia— and have worked around the world wowing audiences with their acrobatics.
