This Summer I went to pick up some amazing goodies from Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center for an event Macaroni KID Hamptons was participating in and stumbled upon something extraordinary. While approaching the door I saw baby and toddler clothing hanging on a rack with a sign that said FREE. While meeting with Joan Overlock from the center I couldn't help but ask "what's this about?" She led me down to the lower level of Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center and my mind was completely blown.
It was like a store with everything you could imagine from infant to 7T clothes, expectant mom baby gear, strollers, pack and plays, bedding, toys and so much more. Educators and parents put together this amazing closet, like Jen Ferrin featured in the above photo. The purpose of this closet is to help families and the most amazing thing is the closet is open to ALL! You do not have to have a child attending the center to go to the closet. All items are donated to EWECC from families from all over the East End. All items are available on a first come first serve basis.
The Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center closet is open every Friday from 12pm-5pm with the exception of Holidays. You can also call 631-324-5560 to schedule an appointment.
Monday-Friday there is a clothing rack on the front porch with various items that are free to take.
