Macaroni Kid Hamptons .ORG of the Month PTA/PTO!

Your Local PTA/PTO relies on donations

By Shannon Trelease Macaroni Kid Hamptons, NY September 2, 2021

It's back to school time and that means hair cuts, supplies, back packs, spirit wear, and yes in that welcome packet from your school is the PTA/PTO membership form.

First off let's talk about the difference between the two.  A PTA is a larger group, local PTA's are governed by state PTA's, as a PTO is more localized and runs as an independent entity.

There are also the parents that always join the PTA/PTO and the parents that don't because it's too much of a time commitment.  TOTALLY understandable! Between work, school, kids, and life in general it's hard to sign up for something and feel obligated to volunteer.

Want to know a secret?

YOU DON'T HAVE TO VOLUNTEER! Though events the PTA/PTO hosts relies on volunteers to be successful, if you really don't have the time you don't have the time.

What is important is your contribution because a PTA/PTO is a .ORG that relies on donations from families, school staff, and members of the community to be able to provide things such as...family fun events, yearbook funding, funding for field trips, book fair funding, field day funding, and more!

Your membership form and payment helps your school's PTA/PTO acheive these events and activities for students and families.  You could also make a donation to your local PTA/PTO at ANYTIME and believe me it is VERY MUCH appreciated! Donations to your local PTA/PTO are also tax deductible!
