The Hamptons is full of .orgs and the Macaroni Kid Hamptons .ORG of the Month is..... Share The Harvest Farm in East Hampton!!!!
Share The Harvest started on a 1/2 acre of land in 2010 and is now a vast beautiful 6 acres at EECO Farm in East Hampton. Share The Harvest believes that everyone should have access to fresh, clean, organic food regardless of what walk of life they have come from or are in. Our family loves to volunteer and whenever we do we learn so much!! Jess Tonn, or you could say Farmer Jess, teaches us so many things about the different vegetables and where many plants originated from. Just recently we helped plant cucumbers and zucchinni. Did you know there is a type of cucumber called a Diva Cucumber? Say What?? Did you know the Long Island cheese pumpkin is the best pumpkin to make pumpkin pie from and it's a native plant to The Hamptons?!
Share The Harvest knows! They also use this cheese pumpkin to bake hundreds of pumpkin pies every fall for a local food pantry.
If you have a middle school or high school student looking for community service hours they can get them by volunteering at the farm! Share The Harvest is always looking for volunteers. Volunteers need to be accompanied by an adult. Masks and social distancing a must! To volunteer CLICK HERE
Just like any .org donations are needed to stay up and running! If you would like to make a donation CLICK HERE and donate through their secure paypal site.
