Time for Love!

TIME FOR LOVE!

Did you honestly know you could ever love something or someone SO MUCH?! We have always heard from our family and friends before we had kids that there is no love like the love you will have for your children. Since day one of finding out we were pregnant on Valentines Day, I have experienced this on so many levels and on every second of every day. Just when I thought I could give no more, I find this reserve of love stashed away somewhere that I feel and give out just at the moments it’s needed the most. Our children. Despite those days where it seems like it will never end and you are saturated beyond measure, there are those days where they pull at your heart strings and overflow your soul! This is something that can never be described in words. There is an unspoken knowledge of this bond between parents, and we understand it in its entirety.

But let’s not forget where it all began. We didn’t start this parenting journey alone. Life with our significant others are just as important and we need to work at keeping our grown up lives just as full! Keep it connected, keep it honest, fill it with love and KEEP IT FUN!

Something as simple as playing cards when the kids have gone to sleep will keep you both smiling and the moods will be lightened. And we all know the importance of boosting those endorphins for the brain and body! NO, I’m talking exercise here! J So the next time you both have some alone time and want to get that blood pumping, get EXERCISING! Find an area inside, or if it’s a nice day somewhere outdoors with a free wall or fence space! An at-home workout you both can do together is just what the LOVE doctor ordered!

Complete the following circuit in no more than 15 minutes. When you are finished, take a breather and DO IT AGAIN! Encourage each other. Laugh. Live. LOVE!

-        Partner Wall Sit!  (Sit back to back with your partner and hold this position for 1-2 minutes)

-        Sit Up High Fives! (Sit up position toe to toe. Each time you crunch up together, give a high five! 25x)

-        Stacked Push Ups! (Both in push up position. One person has their feet on the others back. Push up 10x and then switch positions)

-        Single Leg Squats! (Holding hands and facing eachother. Each leg 20x)

-        Wall Sit and Tricep Dip! (One person in wall sit, the other doing dips off the others knees. 20x and switch)

-        Partner Stretch (and a hug and kiss!)
