Finding Time for You and Time for Fitness Too

By Brooke Cracco November 13, 2015
Something we incorporate into each class we teach, is the importance of having time for 'you'. Being Moms, we all know how challenging even the  thought of that is. But think about it...wouldn't it be incredible to have time with other like-minded moms and kiddos, endorphine boosters
from exercise
to make your brain and body a happier woman and mom
, playdates, Mom's night's out,
and just plain belly aching laughter?! This CAN happen! Come to your first FREE Stroller Strides class! FIT4MOM is the country's largest fitness program for moms offering pre and post-natal fitness classes for every stage of motherhood. and
can give you all of this and MORE!

However, there are those days when it's more than challenging just to brush your teeth, let alone get those kiddos ready, packed and out of the door to class. So here are a few very simple yet effective exercises you can do while those kiddos are eating, napping or playing with their favorite toy. 5 minutes 2-3 times a day

IS
possible. This will begin to show you the importance of  time for 'you'. And just think, those little ones are watching...they are learning from their most influential role model, you, about the significance of health and exercise.

Wall Series
This Wall Series combines cardio and strength with Wall Jumps and Rolling Wall Squats. Find a space in your home or office that is unobstructed and has 'clean and free' wall space.

Wall Jumps:  Facing the wall, stand tall and pull your shoulder blades down and back.  Engage your core and begin jumping to a targeted spot high up the wall with either both hands or alternating right and left hands. Keep this momentum up for 1-2 minutes., taking a break every 30 seconds.

Rolling Wall Squat:  Place a sturdy ball (like the SPRI Sponge Ball) behind your lower back, against the wall, while in a standing position.  Begin squatting down, rolling agains
t the ball and making sure that your knees are in alignment with your ankles.  Shoulders should be pressing towards the wall and core should be tight.Keep this momentum up for 1 minute.
Wall Sits: Sit with your back pressed against the wall, so your knees and hips are in one straight line. When you have found your balance, begin lifting each knee up to hold for a count of 10, and then switch. Keep this momentum up for 2 minutes, taking a break every 40 seconds.

Again, these are simple and very effective exercises you can do just about anywhere. You can still keep an eye on those curious kiddos while taking a few minutes out of your day to boost those endorphines, making you a happier Mom. We are here to help you by making strides in fitness, Motherhood and life!
